  1. 2 BC – The landing

    The Targaryen host lands at the mouth of the Blackwater Rush and raises the Aegonfort on the highest of three hills – the future King's Landing. Rosby and Stokeworth yield at once; Duskendale falls in battle.

  2. 2 BC – The burning of Harrenhal

    Harren the Black shuts himself in his new castle, the greatest ever raised. Aegon flies Balerion over the walls by night; the towers melt like candles and Harren's line ends in the fire.

  3. 2 BC – The Last Storm

    Argilac the Arrogant marches out of Storm's End to meet Orys Baratheon in a driving rain. Meraxes breaks his line; Orys slays Argilac in single combat and takes his castle, his words and his daughter.

  4. 2 BC – The Field of Fire

    The Kings of the Rock and the Reach join their hosts – 55,000 men – and march on Aegon. For the only time all three dragons fly together. Four thousand burn; Mern Gardener and his line die, Loren Lannister bends the knee.

  5. 2 BC – Highgarden yields

    Harlen Tyrell, steward of Highgarden, surrenders the castle and is made Lord Paramount of the Mander; Loren Lannister rules the West as Aegon's Warden.

  6. 1 BC – The King Who Knelt

    Torrhen Stark marches 30,000 Northmen south to the Trident – and finds Aegon's host and three dragons waiting on the far bank. Rather than see his people burn, he kneels and lays down the crown of Winter.

  7. 1 BC – Visenya at the Eyrie

    While the Vale's fleet watches the sea, Visenya lands Vhagar in the garden of the Eyrie, where the boy-king Ronnel Arryn is playing. His mother surrenders the Vale for a ride on a dragon.

  8. 1 BC – Oldtown opens its gates

    The High Septon fasts and prays for seven days, then declares that the Seven will not oppose Aegon. Lord Hightower opens Oldtown; Aegon is anointed in the Starry Sept with his new crown.

  9. 10–13 AC – Dorne refuses

    Dorne alone will not kneel. Meria Martell's people melt into the sands and strike from the shadows; at Hellholt a scorpion bolt takes Meraxes through the eye, and Rhaenys falls with her dragon. The Conquest ends with six kingdoms, not seven.
